Joanna Moorhead is a journalist and author, and the mother of four daughters.
She has worked for all the major UK newspapers and many magazines; her longest association has been with the Guardian, who published her first piece more than 30 years ago. She writes on family life, on women’s issues, on health and on art.
Her memoir on the Surrealist artist Leonora Carrington was published by Virago in 2017, and she has written other books on childbirth and on raising children. She has made documentaries for BBC Radio. She is arts editor of the Tablet newspaper, and she teaches journalism at West Dean College in Sussex.
